Adalbert Boretskyi (1910-1990) was born in Ubla, Slovakia. Studied at Uzhhorod Art School where his tutor was A. Erdely (1927-1931).

Since 1935 participated in exhibitions, was also engaged in the teaching profession. The artist was a member of the Association of Carpathian-Russian painters (1935-1939) and a member of the Ukrainian State Painters Union since 1946. Till 1969 lived and worked in Uzhhorod, then in Kosice, Slovakia. His works of art are presented in the Yosyp Bokshay Transcarpathian Regional Museum of The Fine Arts, as well as in museums of Bratislava and Budapest.
