Peter Stolyarenko (1925) was born in Kashtany in the Crimea. He studied at the fine arts studio under Aivazovsky Art Gallery in Feodosiya where his tutor was N. Barsamov.

Mainly he works in the sphere of the sea-scape and theme painting. His still lives and landscapes are considered to be second to none due to tint and design. He has been a member of Union of Artists of the USSR since 1953 as well as a member of the republican board of administration of Union of Artists (1963-1978). His first personal exhibition took place in Kiev in 1963. He has been living and working in Yalta since 1969. Since 1972 he has been an Honoured Artist of Ukraine and since 1985 – a People’s Artist of Ukraine. The artist worked in Paris, time to time visited Belgium, Luxemburg, Monaco, Italy, Holland, Denmark (1990-1995). In 2010 he received a gold medal “For contribution to the world culture” from the international fund the World Heritage in Russia. His works can be found in museums of Ukraine, Russia and numerous Ukrainian and foreign private collections.
