Konstantin Lomykin (1924-1994) was born in Glukhov in Sumy region. He was a painter and a graphic artist, an outstanding representative of the South-Ukrainian impressionism.

He graduated from M. Hrekov Art School in Odessa in 1951 where his tutors were L. Mutchnick, N. Pavluk and N. Sheluto. He participated in a great number of all-USSR (since 1951) and foreign (1964) exhibitions. His personal exhibitions were held in Odessa (1953, 1974), Kharkov (1954), Kiev (1956, 1957). He was an Honoured Art Worker of the USSR since 1971 and a People’s Artist of the USSR since 1984. He was a chairman in Union of Artists of Ukraine in Odessa for a long time. His works of art are sold in the Ukrainian and foreign auctions, and can be found in art museums of Ukraine, as well as in private collections in Russia, Japan, France, Greece, Germany, Italy and Portugal.
