The Museum of the History of Kyiv has launched a large-scale project titled 'Ukrainian Avant-Garde. Evolution. Collection 3.0 Update', marking a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to promoting Ukrainian avant-garde art. This inaugural exhibition, the first in the newly established Avant-Garde Museum, offers visitors the opportunity to explore over 50 exhibits, including artworks recently added to the Avant-Garde Museum's collection. The exhibits feature works by prominent figures of the classical avant-garde, as well as their successors. Notably, the exhibition includes works by Mykola Novikov, a legendary figure in Odessa's art scene and a rebellious artist. Renowned art historians, publicists, and curators, such as Georg Scholhammer, Hedwig Saxenhuber, and others, regard Mykola Novikov as Ukraine's equivalent of Pablo Picasso and Egon Schiele. The presentation of Mykola Novikov's works is made possible with the support of 'Galerie Les Noms', a contemporary art gallery based in Kyiv.
